Members did everything from painting railings, walls, bookshelves and many other things to gardening, cleaning, distributing compost, and removing trash. The project was successful and drastically improved the school. The project was a lot of fun and ended with a delicious Barbeque.

Stake Conference and a few other upcoming events.

This coming Sunday, April 15, 2012 10am-12pm, the Santa Monica Stake will be having their Stake conference at the Santa Monica Stake Center. This is a very exciting conference because Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles and his wife will be speaking, accompanied by our Area Authority Representative, Elder Reynolds, and a member of the new Presiding Bishopric. It has been a long time since the Santa Monica Stake has gad a general authority speak to them. Everyone is encouraged to arrive early to get a good seat. Be sure not to miss this one and invite your friends! It may be a long time before another general authority visits us!

More upcoming activities:

Saturday April 12, 2012- Ward Missionary Activity 5-7pm

Saturday April 28, 2012- Helping Hands community service project at 9am at Beethoven Elementary School. All ward members and their friends are encouraged to attend. A BBQ lunch will be provided!

Relief Society "Getting to Know You" Activity.

The sisters brought items that represented themselves. Everyone went around looking at the items and tried to guess which items belonged to who. Sister Heaton won by a landslide!

All of the sisters enjoying Tostadas and fun conversation.

More sisters enjoying each other's company.

The sisters of the ward had a "getting to know you" Relief society activity held on April 11, 2012. The sisters gathered for dinner and games that helped everyone get to know each other. Sisters brought items that represented themselves and everyone had to guess which items belonged to who. Once the owner of the items were revealed, they had a chance to explain their items to everyone. After dinner and the game, the sisters gathered in a circle, "speed dating" style. One circle rotated and the sisters had a chance to ask each other questions. It was hard to get the sisters to move at each signal because everyone was enjoying each other so much. It was an amazing way to get to know all of the sisters better. Now when we see each other at church or around the city we will have things to talk about. The activity was a success!
